The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque (Masjid) is one of the major landmarks of Abu Dhabi. It’s splendid work of architecture, artistry, calligraphy, paintings and beauty are a sight to watch. It was designed by Syrian architect Yousef Abdelky.
The Masjid is always filled with worshippers on all days and especially Fridays for Friday congregational prayer, and durng Eid for Eid prayers. Visitors – religion no bar- are allowed to visit the masjid all round the year. There is a library, located in the northeast minaret, that serves the community with classic books and publications addressing a range of Islamic subjects: sciences, civilization, calligraphy, the arts, and coins. The collection comprises material in a broad range of languages.
Here are few of my captures of this beautiful architectural wonder.
Do make it a point to visit this marvelous work of architecture and beauty when you visit Abu Dhabi.
